Our Club organised career guidance programme for 10th standard students of Corporation Girls School, Saidapet today (9 March). Prof. Vipinendran of CEG, Anna University addressed the students on the various opportunities available to pursue one's career. The students found the programme useful and were all praise for the opportunity to clear their doubts.

When it comes to timely service and winning the hearts of beneficiaries, nothing can beat Southerners and Rotary. With the reopening of schools on 19 January 2021, after the covid lockdown, for the students studying in 10th and 12th standard, our Club provided masks for the students of Corporation Girls School Saidapet. The school appreciated the timely gesture.

Tale of the District, short story writing competition for annettes of Rotary District 3232 concluded with award presentation ceremony conducted virtually over Zoom, today, 16 January 2021. Total of 18 entries were received from annettes in the age group of 10-19 years. Ms. Sowmya Rajan Srinivasan, Storyteller, psychologist, Founder member of Bangalore Story Telling Society was the chief guest. The winners are: 1st Prize: Annette Arjun, Annette of RC Chennai Upscale, 2nd Prize: Annette Raghav, Annette of Rotary Club of Royapettah and 3rd Prize: Annette Shakthi Valliammai, Annette of Rotary Club of Perungudi. Consolation prize winners are: Annette Afra Farheen, Annette of Rotary Club of Madras Central Aadhithya, Annette Aarushi Sridhar, Annette of our Club, Annette Shreya Reji, Annette of Rotary Club of Royapettah, Annette Mohamed Imaad, Annette of our Club and Annette Mayuri Yazhini, Annette of RC Madras Industrial City. Congratulations all the winners.

Vizhithiru, self awareness and motivational programme by Rotaractors of College of Engineerig, Guindy every year, was organised on 6 January 2020 at CEG Campus. Our Club President Rtn. M C Srikanth was the chief guest of the function. The programme had speakers from different profession sharing their success stories and insights.

On the eve of Deepavali, the festival of lights, our Interactors of Asan Sr. Secondary School visited Mercy Home, the home for elderly people, on 25 October. They presented them bedsheet, towel and spent time with them. A thoughtful gesture from our Interactors as the monsoon is setting in. Way to go Asanites.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) was organised for 64 students of Corporation Girls Hr. Sec. School, Saidapet on 19 and 20 October 2019. A fine programme imparting various life and leadership skills was prepared by our ever energetic Youth Serivce Director Rtn. Suresh Arunachalam. Speakers from different walks of life shared their knowledge with the students. RYLA is the much look forward to programme every year, both by the students of the school and by the members of our Club. Well done Suresh and team.
